Jessi Mead has devoted her life to improving the performance horse
industry. While she has a wide variety of experience with horses, her
primary focus and extensive expertise is in barrel racing, training
and breeding.
Jessi was born on her family's ranch in Cedar Grove, New Mexico where she began riding very early in life. She started competing in junior
rodeos, play days, and 4-H horse shows when she was eight. When she was twelve she broke and trained her first barrel horse. At fifteen
she bred her first mare and raised her first colt. This started her
lifelong career as a contestant, breeder and trainer.
In her twenties she realized the horses she raised for herself were
highly successful and decided to start her own breeding program. Over
the years her breeding and training program has consistently produced
highly competitive performance horses, winning championships and world
titles. She has bred, raised and trained all three of her current
mounts.
Jessi runs her ranch (Red Butte Ranch) near Sheridan, Wyoming with her
daughters Jackie and Raschel. In order to spend as much time as
possible with her family she has limited her barrel racing to the
Midwest region. |
